Regional church music warden

Regional church music director (LKMD) is the official title for the leading church musician in Protestant regional churches . In some regional churches the office is also called regional church music warden or regional cantor.

He is responsible for the technical supervision of church music . Its task is to observe the church music life in the regional church and to give suggestions for promotion. He coordinates the cooperation of the church music ward and the district cantors and invites them to the regular specialist conferences. He advises the regional church offices on all questions relating to church music, in particular the training, employment, examination and further training of church musicians, the maintenance of choir and brass works, the promotion of church singing and the hymn books . He proposes the appointment of church music directors (KMD) to the regional bishops . His grade is A 14 or A 15.
