Rural municipality of Ekenäs
The rural community of Ekenäs ( Swed. Ekenäs landskommun , finn. Tammisaaren Maalaiskunta ) is a former municipality in the southern Finnish landscape Uusimaa . It included the area around the city of Ekenäs . The rural community of Ekenäs last had an area of 126 km² and 2,183 inhabitants. The Finnish Swedes made up 88% of the population in 1960. In 1977 the rural community Ekenäs was incorporated into the city of Ekenäs together with the municipality of Snappertuna . This in turn merged in early 2009 with the city of Karis and the municipality of Pohja to form the city of Raseborg .
