Country house (Eisenstadt)
The Landhaus in Eisenstadt is the official building of the Burgenland Parliament and the Burgenland Government .
The management of the land acquisition of Burgenland had its seat in the castle in Wiener Neustadt . From 1922 to 1930 the state parliament and the state government had their seat in the Martin barracks in Eisenstadt.
Today's country house building was built from 1926 to 1929 - at the same time as a civil servants' housing estate in Tillstrasse - according to plans by the architect Rudolf Perthen and moved into in 1930.
The mural painting Welcoming the Returned Burgenland by the painter Ferdinand Kitt , which was destroyed in 1945, was in the parliamentary meeting room .
In the country house there is a bust of the Federal President Karl Renner by the sculptor Gustinus Ambrosi as well as the Burgenland Provincial Archives in an extension added to the north from 1970 to 1973 .
From 1973, a "Landhaus-Neu" was built to the west of the old country house and was opened in July 1977.
