The Landhaus Walter is a listed building in Hamburg's city park .

Description and history

The country house is located in the south-western section of the Hamburg city park in Hamburg-Winterhude, east of Otto-Wels-Straße. The building has a low structure and a half-hip roof that is covered with plain tiles. The architecture has a rural character with traditionalist motifs, for example bat dormers and lattice windows with folding shutters.

The country house, built in 1914/15 according to plans by Fritz Schumacher , probably received an extension around 1930; The arcades, which had been open until then, were also closed with windows, which allowed the inn to be operated even in colder seasons.

In front of the building, which is still used today for gastronomic purposes, there is a fountain built in 1916 with the sculpture "Boy with Ducks".
