The agricultural machinery Döbeln emerged as the successor of the company founded in 1861 the company, which from 1875 as " agricultural machinery factory Franz Richter " was renamed. In the period that followed, it had developed into a major agricultural machinery manufacturer in Germany with a wide range of products in the fields of soil cultivation and harvesting technology . In the war years, however, arms production dominated the scene. In 1945, the machines and equipment were largely dismantled. In 1946 it was expropriated and transferred to public property . From 1947 agricultural machinery was produced again.

history

In 1948 the agricultural machinery factory was given the name VEB Landmaschinenbau "Rotes Banner" Döbeln and, with its approximately 400 employees, was assigned to the VVB agricultural, construction and woodworking machinery. Road construction machines were then temporarily produced. From 1953, the company came to the newly formed agricultural machinery manufacturing head office and was profiled for the development and production of agricultural technology.

From 1970 to 1978 the company belonged to the Weimar combine . In the mid-1970s, he was assigned smaller businesses in Naunhof, Frankenberg, Neuensalz, Reichenbach, Großvoigtsberg and Großschirma as business units. The number of employees rose to around 1,000. During this time, the assembly production within the framework of the joint project self-propelled beet sledge loader KS 6 with the USSR (final production in Ukraine ) became the focus. From 1978 the agricultural machinery construction Döbeln was part of the combine progress agricultural machinery . Through the cooperation in the development and production of the KS 6 assemblies, he was assigned to the combine operation of soil tillage equipment in Leipzig until 1984 . In 1978, the Großvoigtsberg and Großschirma parts of the business also moved to this combine.

1985 the merger of the agricultural machinery manufacturer Döbeln with the damper construction Lommatzsch to the VEB agricultural machinery and damper construction Döbeln with the goal of profiling this company as a cabin producer of the combine progress agricultural machinery . In this formation, the company had a turnover of around 175 million GDR marks at the end of the 1980s and had 1,220 employees, of which 630 were employed in the main Döbeln and 460 in the Lommatzsch plant and 130 in the operational areas.

The company Matec GmbH emerged from the Döbeln plant in 1990 and was mainly active in the development and production of driver's cabs for agricultural and construction machinery. The company was taken over by Salzgitter Maschinenbau GmbH in 1994 .

Products

In the first post-war years, the products of the Richter company initially formed the basis of agricultural machinery production. These were plows, harrows, seed drills, potato harvesters, hay tedders, grass mowers, beet cutters and small threshing machines.

In the period from 1948 to 1953, the focus was on road construction machines, which included tar ovens, tunnel ovens, construction winches, mastic asphalt motor stoves, countercurrent high-speed mixers and loaders.

Important products from the mid-1950s onwards were attachments for the RS09 implement carrier , including:

  • Attachable beet head slide E 730
  • Mounted beet harvester E 423
  • Attachable centrifugal harvester E 655

From the end of the 1950s the hydraulic T 157 mobile loader and from 1970 the successor T 159 became the main product. The loaders of the T 157 series were based on the drive unit of the RS09 implement carrier , the T 159 was a new development based on the 2VD14; 5 diesel engine with 34.5 hp, which was also used in the T 174 and Famulus . In 1972/1973 the production of the cabin and cross conveyor assemblies for the beet harvester KS 6 began , of which around 55,000 sets had left the factory by 1989. In connection with this, the production of the loaders in Döbeln was discontinued and relocated to Romania within the framework of the Comecon agreements ( TIH 445 ). From 1983 the cabs for the tractors ZT 320 / ZT 323 were produced .

The following products were added with the Lommatzsch plant and the operational parts:

  • D 028 fertilizer spreader
  • Mobile and stationary steaming systems
  • Machines and equipment for processing potatoes and for feeding
