Landsat Coral Reef Data Archive
The Landsat Coral Reef Data Archive is the world's most comprehensive database of remote sensing of coral reefs . The archive emerged from a cooperation between NASA and various NGOs .
The following are involved in the project:
- The SeaWiFS Project of the Goddard Space Flight Center
- The University of South Florida's Institute for Marine Remote Sensing's Millennium Global Coral Reef Mapping Project
- The Earth Observations Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center
The data is processed by the National Ocean Service of NOAA and the Scientific Data Purchase Program of the Stennis Space Center . They come from NASA's Landsat satellites and are processed for further use of the ETM + images (Thematic Mapper). The database is freely accessible.
