The Asbeck Valley landscape protection area with 18.6  hectares is located in the Märkischer Kreis in the area of ​​the city of Menden . It was designated for the first time in 1989 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan Balve - Mittleres Hönnetal as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type B (special landscape protection) with the name landscape protection area Asbecktal west of Asbeck . In 2015, with the 2nd change to landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mitteleres-Hönnetal, another designation with a change of name. The LSG is located west of Asbeck .
