The nature reserve Bigge-Lister-Bergland, type A with 5019.61  hectares is located in the district of Olpe . It was designated in 2013 by the district council of the district of Olpe as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type A (general landscape protection) with the landscape plan No. 1 Bigge and Listertalsperre . The LSG is located in the Attendorn , Olpe and Drolshagen areas . The LSG extends to the outskirts of the settlement.

The LSG covers large areas around Biggesee and Lister Reservoir , which are outside of the building area and other protected areas with stricter requirements. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas, grassland and fields. Smaller areas with Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures are also located in the LSG. The forests mostly have spruce or beech trees.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.

Legal regulations

In the landscape protection area, among other things, the erection of structures and the drainage of groundwater, even when waterlogged, are prohibited.

Initial afforestation and the new planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures are subject to official approval from the Lower Nature Conservation Authority .

Some sub-areas were shown temporarily . The LSG stipulations only exist until the areas are used as building land or until they are used as a quarry. For this purpose, a development plan or a statute according to § 34 BauGB or an official dismantling permit must be available.
