The Eslohe landscape protection area with 7,589  hectares is located in the municipality of Eslohe . The area was in 2008 by the council of Hochsauerlandkreises with the landscape plan Eslohe as a conservation area designated (LSG). The LSG consists of 38 sub-areas. The LSG was designated as type A LSG, General Landscape Protection. In the municipality of Eslohe there are also 35 nature protection areas of type B and 43 of type B with other higher requirements. The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park or, until 2015, the Homert Nature Park .

description

The LSG comprises large areas that are outside of the building area and other protected areas. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas and smaller areas with open land (grassland and arable land). Larger Christmas tree , ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures are also available in the LSG. The LSG contains evidence of medieval and modern mining and remains of ravines as evidence of old road connections.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the ban. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue special permits for buildings of all kinds.
