The nature reserve Garenfelder Wald with an area of ​​30.76  hectares is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) is located in the Garenfeld district of Hagen . The LSG was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

The LSG borders a campsite in the north. In the northeast to a settlement area of ​​Garenfeld. The Garenfeld nature reserve is located in the east and south-east . In the southwest lies the nature reserve Lennesteilhang Garenfeld . In the northwest is the A1.

The LSG encompasses the Garenfeld forest in which there are not only forests but also some agricultural areas.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made "to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular due to its supplementary effect including buffering function to the adjacent nature reserve and because of its special importance as a forest recreation area for the residents of the settlement north of Garenfeld".
