The Garenfeld landscape protection area with an area of ​​241.09  hectares is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) is located in the Garenfeld district of Hagen . The LSG was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

The LSG borders in the north on a part of the settlement of Garenfeld and on the nature reserve Alter Ruhrgraben (Hagen) . To the west to the nature reserve Garenfelder Wald . In the south lies the Lennesteilhang Garenfeld nature reserve . The A 45 is to the east or south-east. The LSG mainly comprises agricultural areas with fields and grassland.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, it was designated “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing natural habitats and because of its particular importance for recreation in rural areas”.
