The landscape protection area of lean grassland complex south of Wülfte with 70.23 hectares comprises areas south and southwest of Wülfte in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau .

description

The western border of the LSG is partly formed by the federal highway 480 , two former quarries which are used today as building rubble and landfill or in the southern quarry area also contains an animal shelter and the Flotsberg nature reserve . Two sub-areas of the Brilon Limestone Pateau landscape protection area and edge heights are also located on the western border. Another part of the landscape protection area Briloner Kalkpateau and Edge Heights is located in the middle of the LSG lean grassland complex south of Wülfte . In the middle of the LSG are two protected landscape components (LB). This is a protected landscape component of Pingen near Wülfte with two parts and a protected landscape component of the rocky hill south of Wülfte . In the Immenhütte area, the nature reserve Obermöhne- / Almewald and Almer Quellgrund forms the northern border. In the northeast, the LSG goes directly to the village of Wülfte. The eastern border would otherwise come up against the open country complex around the Wülfte / Brilon plateau . In a small area in the south-east, the LSG also borders the Hermelenstein nature reserve .

In the LSG there are mainly grassland areas with some arable land. There are numerous woods and hedges in the area. In the northern area there are smaller silicate rocks. In the Lehmkuhle area and east of the northern landfill there are areas with species-rich grassland .

Protection purpose

The designation was carried out to maintain, supplement and optimize a grassland biotope network system, in particular with the nature reserve designations in grassland. In this way, animals and plants should retain the opportunity to migrate and spread. Like the other type C landscape protection areas, this designation also serves as a buffer zone for adjacent nature protection areas.

pads

The landscape protection area of the lean grassland complex south of Wülfte has been designated as a type C landscape protection area , meadow valleys and significant extensive grassland. In the landscape protection areas of type C of the landscape plan area, initial afforestation and the creation of new Christmas tree cultures, ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures are prohibited.
