The landscape protection area Niederungsbereich Bollandswater is a landscape protection area in the district of Aurich in the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG AUR 00002.
Description of the area
The landscape protection area, designated in 2007, covers an area of 0.17 square kilometers and is located south of the Schottjer Groden road entirely in the area of the municipality of Upgant-Schott , which in turn is part of the integrated municipality of Brookmerland . The nature reserve runs along the lowland of the now dry Bollandswater. In its place there was probably a small river called Gant in the Middle Ages , which flowed from Siegelsum into the Abelitz , a tributary of the old Greetsieler Sieltiefs .
