Oelinghausen landscape protection area
The Oelinghausen landscape protection area with an area of 25.6 hectares is located in the Arnsberg urban area . It was designated in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerland district as a landscape protection area (LSG) type B (small-scale landscape protection) . It is around the Oelinghausen monastery .

Protection purpose
The designation was made to secure and maintain the efficiency of the natural balance or the usability of the natural assets; because of the variety, character or beauty of the landscape and its particular importance for recreation. The designation is intended to secure open spaces in the outskirts.
Legal regulations
In the landscape protection area, among other things, the erection of structures is prohibited. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry, the public supply of electricity, gas, telecommunications services, heat and water, wastewater management or an existing adjacent commercial operation are exempt from the construction ban, provided that a permit is available. The construction of wind turbines and hydropower plants is also permitted with a building permit.
