The Oldehave landscape protection area is a landscape protection area in the district of Leer in the northwest of the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG LER 00021. As the lower nature conservation authority, the district of Leer is responsible for the area.
Description of the area
The protected landscape area, designated on May 29, 1975, covers an area of 20 square kilometers and is located in the municipality of Hesel . The area lies on a mainly occupied by deciduous forest Geest tongue , which is enclosed by land under grassland plains of the river Bietze and Leekentiefs. Use as grassland in the lowlands. In the east, the area merges into the walled hedge landscape north of Firrel. The forest consists mainly of acid mixed oak forest. There are also alder-elm-alluvial forest relics.
Protection purpose
The main purpose of protection is to protect against changes "that are likely to damage nature, impair the enjoyment of nature or deface the landscape."
