The landscape protection area local open spaces between Klause and Mosebolle with 43.9  hectares is located in the urban area of Meschede and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG was designated as a type B landscape planning area , small-scale landscape protection. The LSG is one of 102 landscape protection areas in the city of Meschede. In the city there is a type A landscape protection area, 51 type B landscape protection areas and 50 type C landscape protection areas. The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature reserve . There are agricultural open land areas in the LSG.

Protection purpose

The designation was carried out to ensure the diversity and uniqueness of the landscape in the vicinity of the localities and the old agricultural priority areas by keeping it open. Also because of its special importance for recreation.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the ban. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue special permits for buildings of all kinds. As in the other type B landscape protection areas in Meschede, the LSG prohibits initial afforestation and the creation of Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nurseries .
