from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The landscape protection area Sundern with an area of 12,696.1  hectares is located in the urban area of Sundern in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) with 14,692.83 hectares in 1993 with the Sundern landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . When the Sundern landscape plan was reorganized, the LSG was shown again and significantly reduced in size. The LSG was designated as a type A landscape protection area , general landscape protection , in 1993 and 2019 .

The LSG is one of 106 landscape protection areas in the city of Sundern. In the city there is a landscape protection area of type A, 45 landscape protection areas of type B, outskirts, landscape character and 60 landscape protection areas of type C, meadow valleys .

description

The LSG partly extends to the edge of the settlement and consists of 60 sub-areas. The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park . The LSG covers a large area in Sundern that is outside of the building area and other protected areas. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas, furthermore large areas with open land (grassland and arable land) and smaller areas with Christmas tree , ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures .

The landscape plan explains the LSG: “The protection designation covers almost the entire planning area with the exception of settlement areas, protected areas of more stringent or specific protection categories and areas without stipulations. The protected area ensures a representative section of the natural areas of the Sauerland. The Sundern landscape protection area encases numerous habitats and landscape elements that are highly worthy of protection and which are secured by further protection measures. It thus also serves to secure a largely intact environment for these protected objects and protected areas. "

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape. The LSG serves to supplement or buffer zone function of the more strictly protected parts of this planning area by protecting their surroundings from influences that could reduce the outstanding value of these nature reserves and protected objects and ensuring the coherence and implementation of the European nature reserve system Natura 2000 . The preservation of cultural and historical relics that can be found scattered throughout the city is also to be ensured by the LSG.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the prohibition ( Section 35 (1) No. 1 and 2 of the Building Code ). The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue special permits for buildings of all kinds.
