Wenningen-Kirchlinde protected landscape area

The Wenningen-Kirchlinde landscape protection area with 58.7  hectares is located in the Arnsberg urban area . It was designated in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerland district as a landscape protection area (LSG) type B (small-scale landscape protection) . The hamlet of Wenningen lies north in the LSG and the hamlet Kirchlinde lies south in the LSG.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the efficiency of the natural balance or the usability of the natural assets; because of the variety, character or beauty of the landscape and its particular importance for recreation. The designation is intended to secure open spaces in the outskirts.

Legal regulations

In the landscape protection area, among other things, the erection of structures is prohibited. Building projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry, the public supply of electricity, gas, telecommunications services, heat and water, wastewater management or an existing commercial operation are exempt from the construction ban, provided that there is a building permit. The construction of wind turbines and hydropower plants is also permitted with a building permit.
