The Long Street is a street in Güstrow . It is located on the eastern border of the old town near Güstrow Castle and connects Gleviner Straße with Am Berge. At 325 meters, it is the longest continuous street in the old town. After extensive renovation work that lasted eight months, it was opened to traffic again in early December 2009. The road renovation cost 1.36 million euros and was financed through urban development funding. There was a school at Langen Strasse 41. It was used as a primary school for centuries up to the GDR era and has a ballroom with remarkable classical decorations. The building is now used by the German Red Cross as a nursing home for the elderly .
