The Langenstein (also called "grandmother" called) is a from the Neolithic originating menhir in Drehlitz , a district of Petersberg (Saalekreis) in Saxony-Anhalt .

Location and description

The Lange Stein is located 650 m northeast of the exit of Drehlitz on the road to Ostrau . It lies exactly on the border of both places between the parcels "Galgenfeld" and "Pieces am long stone".

The menhir is made of porphyry . It has a height of 168 cm, a width of 70 cm and a depth of 50 cm. It has the shape of a pillar tapering towards the top. Its front sides point to the southeast and northwest.
