Lankenaustift (2009)

The Lankenaustift at Bleickenallee 34 in Hamburg-Ottensen was built between 1912 and 1913. It was designed by the architects Raabe & Wöhlecke as a three-wing complex. The facade was built from clinker bricks and provided with lattice windows. The roof of the building is covered with gray pans.

The building was built for single seniors who, due to their origins in the working class and artisan milieu, could not afford any other accommodation. The founders of this institution were the married couple Marie Mathilde and Vincent Louis Heinrich Lankenau .

The building was on 14 August 2000 under monument protection provided and remains virtually unchanged.
