Lanzer , not to be confused with the right-wing radical band Landser , is a cover band from Wörth am Main in Lower Franconia .

history

The band was officially formed in 1985, but with a different line-up that changed constantly over the years. The beginnings of the band go back to 1979, but at that time the band was still called Dirt Road .

In 1988 Lanzer played their first tour of Germany, and the year before that they made their first LP, Use It Or Lose It . In 1989, Lanzer played mainly in army clubs and thus established himself in the German rock cover scene.

In 1992 a new singer joined the band, the female voice Janie Dixon, who left in 1993 and returned to the band in 1998. In 1995 Andy Mersch sang in the band. Among other things, he recorded the album "under a diffrent sun". She was replaced in 1996 by Renée Walker ( Renée Walker Band ). In 1997 singer Chris Bay ( Freedom Call ) left the band temporarily until his return in 2000. Dan Zimmermann ( Gamma Ray ) also left the band in 1997.

After the departure of Sascha Gerstner ( Helloween ), Janie Dixon, Alex Silva and Ilker Ersin, the new line-up has been playing together since the beginning of 2007. The 21-year-old singer Sonja Hötzel is the current Lanzer front in a duo with Chris Bay.

In 2009 a lot changed at Lanzer. After a good ten months, singer André Carswell switched to another cover band called PULL as the second singer and singer Sonja stopped making music due to professional changes.

Chris Bay switched to his home band FUCK , so that a new beginning was dared with the young Dominik Marx .
