Arches of Lapa ( Arcos da Lapa )
Lapa is an area of the city center ( Zona Central ) of Rio de Janeiro . It is known for its architecture , in particular the "Arches of Lapa" ( Arcos da Lapa ), which were built during colonial times and served as aqueducts . Up to an accident, the tram in Santa Teresa district who drove on the aqueduct trams to the district of Santa Teresa . The church "Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Lapa" is another testimony to the old architecture.
