The Lapidary Point (English for rocky tip , Russian Мыс Каменный Mys Kamenny , German 'Steinkap' ) is a headland of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the banks of Ardley Cove , it marks the south-western boundary of the entrance to Rocky Cove .
The name goes back to two Soviet scientists in 1968. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 1978 in an adapted form.
