Lars Becker-Larsen

Lars Becker-Larsen (born March 27, 1957 in Vordingborg ) is a Danish documentary filmmaker , primarily in the field of popular science film .

Life

From the mid-1970s, Lars Becker-Larsen worked primarily in the field of sound and editing technology. He made his directorial debut in 1985 with Atomfysik og virkelighed ( English Atomic Physics and Reality ). Københavnerfortolkningen (English: The Copenhagen Interpretation ; 2004) deals with the controversy between Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein in their interpretation of quantum physics . The film has won several awards at international film festivals, including in 2005 as “best educational film ” at the Prague Techfilm Festival and in 2007 in Vienna with the main prize at the European Science Film Festival. He has also received awards for other of his films, for example in 2015 for Den forunderlige kvanteverden (English: Taming the Quantum World ; 2013) at the International Science Film Festival in Saint Petersburg as “best director”.

Becker-Larsen is a lecturer at the Danske Film Institute and lives in Ølstykke .
