Lars Ruppel (* 1985 in Gambach ) is a German slam poet and cabaret artist .

Life and work

According to his own statement, Ruppel has been performing as a “full -time slam ” on poetry slam stages since 2004 . He is one of the most famous representatives of the poetry slam genre in Germany. Ruppel gives workshops at schools and universities and is a member of the "Poetry Slam Boygroup" SMAAT, with which he won the 2007 team competition of the German-language Poetry Slam championships . In 2009 three of his works came out as the “Laruppel Trilogy”. In 2014 he won the individual competition of the German-language poetry slam in Dresden.

Together with others he founded the Marburg Slampoeten reading stage “Late Night Reading”, which takes place monthly in the Cavete jazz club in Marburg Upper Town. He has been active as a moderator or host of the event for years at numerous slam poetry competitions in the Central Hesse region .

Another focus of his work is the management of the project "Weckworte", in which an emotional access to dementia patients is created through appropriate performances of classical verses. This activity has meanwhile also given Ruppel recognition in specialist circles. In 2016 he published the anthology “Geblitzdingst” with slam poetry, which deals with the topic of dementia. He has been writing podcasts and the regular column Larses lyrical life counseling for the magazine Psych. Pflege Heute since 2013 .

For Radio Fritz he produced the podcast series Larsis lyrische Lebensberatung .

Lars Ruppel has been organizing a science slam twice a year at the Kreuz cultural center in Fulda since 2014. The event has been taking place together with the MINTmachClub Fulda since 2015. Since then, he has been supported in moderation by the university professor Sasha Skorupka.
