The Larsen Harbor is a fine natural harbor on the southeast coast of South Georgia . It is located 4 km west-northwest of the Nattriss Head on the south side of the Drygalski Fjord .
Participants in the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911–1912) under the direction of the geophysicist Wilhelm Filchner mapped it. Filchner named it after the Norwegian Antarctic explorer Carl Anton Larsen (1860-1924), who operated the whaling station in Grytviken at the time .
