Larva (English for larva ) is a South Korean animated series that is produced for the local TV station KBS, has been sold in more than 40 countries and also gained international fame through corresponding videos on YouTube (sometimes more than 10 million views). The series is about two befriended larvae who cannot speak and who go through various adventures in a humorous and sometimes spiteful manner.

Internet streaming provider Netflix has been broadcasting a spin-off called “ Larva Island ”, which is also produced by TUBAn, since 2018 .

Red larva

The red larva is about half the size of the yellow larva and can be greedy and mean by nature. The yellow larva often annoys them, which often causes them to harm themselves. The red larva specialty is screaming and kicking in the style of Bruce Lee .

Yellow larva

The yellow larva is about twice the size of the red larva and is of a good-natured and rather calm nature, unless it is about food. The yellow larva is often exploited by the red larva, but this does not affect the friendship in the end.
