The Last Cache Nunatak (English for last memory nunatak ) is a nunatak in the Queen Maud Mountains of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises as the southernmost and last nunatak of a mountain ridge on the eastern flank of the Zaneveld Glacier . It serves as an important landmark for orientation at the head end of the Shackleton Glacier .
The southern group of a campaign carried out from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him so because they had set up their last storage facility here.
