Last Order - Final Fantasy VII ( Japanese ラ ス ト オ ー ダ ー - フ ァ イ ナ ル フ ァ ン タ ジ ー VII- ) is an anime by Square Enix , which is an original video animation (OVA) and forms another part of the Final Fantasy VII universe.

The anime runs for about 25 minutes and, like Final Fantasy, was produced by Studio Madhouse ( Tokyo Godfathers, among others ). It's a prequel . It tells an episode from the original game Final Fantasy VII . The focus of the plot is the soldier Zack . In two parallel storylines, the viewer follows his confrontation with Sephiroth in the reactor in Nibelheim (five years before Final Fantasy VII), as well as Zack and Cloud's escape from Nibelheim (shortly before the beginning of the Final Fantasy VII storyline). This is framed by the memories of Turks Tseng , who reflects on the Nibelheim incident.

distribution

The anime is part of the extensive extras that come with the Ultimate Edition (better known as Advent Pieces ) by Advent Children . This appeared in Japan in September 2005 at the same time as the normal version of Advent Children in a limited number of 77,777 for the price of 29,500 yen (225 euros). The Ultimate Edition did not appear outside of Japan, so the distribution of the anime was initially limited to Japan and a few importers in the West.

Contrary to previous statements, Square Enix surprisingly released the anime as part of the Limited Edition Collector's Set in North America. This set was released on February 20, 2007 and contains extensive bonus material, including a version of Last Order with subtitles. There was no synchronization.

Officially Last Order did not appear in Europe.
