Staříč (German Staritsch , formerly also Starzitz , Staritz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers west of the city center of Frýdek-Místek and belongs to the Okres Frýdek-Místek .
geography
Staříč is an elongated forest hoof village in the Beskid foothills, which extends for four kilometers between the valleys of the Ondřejnice and Olešná along the Ptáčnický potok and Staříčský potok over the ridge of the Strážnice in an east-west direction. The Kamenná (385 m) rises to the north, the Strážnice (392 m) and Okrouhlá (373 m) to the south. The R 56 expressway runs to the east from Ostrava to Frýdek-Místek , where Staříč has an exit.
Neighboring towns are Krmelín , Oprechtice Mala Ves and Žabeň in the north, Lískovec in the Northeast, Sviadnov the east, Místek in the southeast, Lysůvky, Zelinkovice, Chlebovice and Krnalovice in the south, Fryčovice in the southwest, Ptáčník and Borošín the west and Brušperk in the northwest.
history
Staříč was probably founded during the first colonization of the Beskid foothills. The first written mention of the village comes from the year 1258. The document was excavated in 1906 by a farmer in his field together with remains of ashes and bones.
There is evidence of a school in Staritz since 1582, and the church was also built in the 16th century. The rectory was built at the end of the 18th century. From 1838 a distinction was made between old and new Starzitsch . In 1850, the political community Starzitsch / Staříč in the Mistek district, which consisted of the districts Nová and Stará Staříč. Between 1901 and 1902, the French mining engineer Chanove carried out exploratory drilling for hard coal. In the second half of the 20th century, several coal pits from the Staříč and Staříč II pits were sunk in the vicinity of the village. Since 1961 the village belongs to the Okres Frýdek-Místek . Between 1980 and 1990 Staříč was incorporated under the name Frýdek-Místek 9-Staříč after Frýdek-Místek.
