history

In 1661 the settlement of Lomna was first mentioned in a document. Lomna itself was one of the youngest settlements in the Teschen area. The first residents were cattle herders. After increased immigration and the flourishing of cattle breeding and agriculture, a law for the protection of the forest was passed as early as 1756, with which the spreading deforestation was stopped. At the beginning of the 19th century, with increasing industrialization, the Teschen Chamber dissolved more and more Salas (salaš) and founded workers' settlements. In place of the former willows, 31 uniform houses were built, to which the Teschener Kammer allocated agricultural and pasture areas. Each colonist was obliged to process wood for the chamber all year round. It was not until the 1830s that the colonists received their own rights to their property. With the woodworking, the handicraft of the carters developed, which was one of the main sources of income until the Second World War . The first private school was founded in the village in 1830 and the educational system was not supplemented by a general school until 1852. On June 12, 1896, the first church was consecrated in the center of Oberlomna.

Dolní Lomná with Horní Lomná including the workers' settlement Přelače formed a joint village Lomna until 1899.
