history

The village was first mentioned in 1359 in a document from the Olomouc bishop Johann Očko von Wlašim about the property belonging to the castrum nostrum Huskenwalde . Due to the large number of hoof estates , it is assumed that the village was founded during the German colonization under the Přemyslids .

An iron ore mine had been in operation north of Lhotka since the 17th century, but was closed in the 19th century. Limestone was also mined and also delivered to the Archbishop's Iron Works in Friedland .

After the abolition of patrimonial Lhotka formed a parish in the Mistek district from 1850. After the Second World War it was assigned to the Okres Frenštát pod Radhoštěm and since its dissolution in 1961 it has belonged to the Okres Frýdek-Místek . The parish is Kozlovice.

Since 1995 the folklore festival “Sochovy národopisné slavnosti”, founded by Vincenc Socha in the 1960s, has been held annually on the open-air stage in the last week of August.
