Bruzovice ( German Brusowitz , Polish Bruzowice ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers northeast of Frýdek-Místek and belongs to the Okres Frýdek-Místek .

history

The place was first mentioned as an item in Bruschowitz around 1305 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis (tenth register of the diocese of Breslau ) . The village was still in the earlier phase of foundation, so the territory of which the tithe was calculated was inexpressible. The patronymic name is probably derived from the local knight Brus , who was mentioned in 1297.

Politically, the village originally belonged to the Duchy of Opole-Ratibor (Teschener Kastellanei ) during the period of Polish particularism . The duchy was divided in 1281 after the death of Wladislaus I von Opole . From 1290 the village belonged to the Duchy of Teschen . Since 1327 consisted fiefdom of the Kingdom of Bohemia and since 1526 it belonged with this for the Habsburg monarchy .

The parish of Bransowicz in the Teschen deanery was mentioned in the Peterspfennig register of 1447.

In 1434 the village still belonged to the Teschen dukes, after which it became private. In 1573 the free civil rule Friedek came into being, to which the village was subordinate.

After the abolition of patrimonial it formed a municipality in Austrian Silesia from 1850 , judicial district Friedek until 1901 in the district of Teschen , then in the district of Friedek .

In 1679 the episcopal visitation of Wroclaw established that the Moravian language ( concio Moravica , see also Lachish language ) was spoken in the parish , while in 1847 the Czech language was spoken.

After the collapse of Austria-Hungary at the end of 1918, the area of Teschen was controversial. On November 5, 1918, the Polish National Council for the Cieszyn Region (Rada Narodowa Kięstwa Cieszyńskiego, RNKC) and the Czech Territory Committee (Zemský národní výbor, ZNV) initially agreed that Bruzovice should fall to Poland. Nevertheless, Bruzovice became part of Czechoslovakia .
