history

The first written reports about the place come from the tithe list of the diocese of Wroclaw from 1305. The estate was owned by the Tluk family from Tošanovice from 1445 to 1753. Georg Franz Herzan von Harras bought the property from them. The community has had a seal since 1754. Until the middle of the 19th century the Herzan von Harras owned Horní Tošanovice. The Kaiserweg led through the community from Austria to Silesia.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ober Toschonowitz formed from 1850 a community in the Teschen district. From 1920 the place belonged to the Český Těšín district. In 1938 he came to Poland as part of the Olsa region . From 1939 to 1945 Ober Toschonowitz belonged to the Teschen district and returned to Czechoslovakia after the war. After the dissolution of the Okres Český Těšín, the community was assigned to the Okres Frýdek-Místek in 1961. In 1980 Horní Tošanovice was incorporated into Hnojník , since 1990 the community has existed again. A Polish minority lives in Horní Tošanovice, about 5% of the population.
