history
The village was probably created in the second half of the 13th century during the colonization of the Teschener Land. The first written mention took place in 1305 in a tithe directory of the diocese of Breslau . At that time, today the village already has a church. In 1447 a new wooden church was built, which was replaced by the current one in 1638. Until 1573 Sedlischt belonged to the Duchy of Teschen and then became part of the Friedeck rule, which was separated from it. In the Friedecker Urbar from 1636 seven ponds and a mill are recorded for the village.
At this time Johann d. Ä. von Würben and Freudenthal set up a wooden manorial court in Sedlischt. The Sedlisht Church was a branch church of Bruzovice .
After the abolition of patrimonial rule, the political community Sedlischt in the Teschen district was established in 1850 . In 1908 the community was assigned to the Friedeck district and came to Okres Místek after the Second World War. Sedliště has been part of the Okres Frýdek-Místek since 1961 .
