Vělopolí (Polish Wielopole , German Wielopoli ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers southwest of Český Těšín and belongs to the Okres Frýdek-Místek .
geography
The scattered settlement Vělopolí is located on a ridge in the headwaters of the Vělopolka brook between the Ropičanka and Stonávka rivers in the Beskid foothills. The R 48 / E 462 expressway runs north .
Neighboring towns are Běrnoutí and Horni Žukov in the north, Dolní Žukov and Kozačinec in the Northeast, Ropice the east, Konska and Nebory the southeast, Střítež and Hnojník in the south, Vyrubané and Horní Tošanovice in the southwest, Horni Třanovice and Hůrka in the west and Třanovice in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1448 as the property of Matouš von Vělopolí. From 1545 the Pelhřim von Třánkovice ( Pelchrzim ) owned the place. Between 1608 and 1629 the village belonged to Erasmus Rucký von Rudz, followed by Mitrovský from Nemyšl and Adam Bees from Chrostin. The latter sold the Vělopolí estate to Kaspar Tluck von Toschonowitz in 1665. Gottfried Logau von Altenberg bought it from his widow in 1671 and added it to the manor Střítež . In 1792 the Cieszyn Chamber acquired Vělopolí together with Střítež. The inhabitants of the village lived from agriculture. Gravel was broken west of the village near Gurka.
After the abolition of patrimonial Wielopoly formed a community in the Teschen district from 1850 . From 1920 the place belonged to the Český Těšín district. In 1938 he came to Poland as part of the Olsa region . From 1939 to 1945 Wielopole belonged to the Teschen district and returned to Czechoslovakia after the war. after the dissolution of the Okres Český Těšín, the community was assigned to the Okres Frýdek-Místek in 1961. In 1980 Vělopolí was incorporated into Hnojník , since 1990 the municipality has existed again. A Polish minority lives in Vělopolí, coming from the Cieszyn Wallachians , to which about 19% of the population belong.
