history

The first written mention as Zylmanice took place in 1450. It is assumed that the original place name was Selmannsdorf . Allegedly older traditions, which are said to come from the second half of the 14th century, cannot be proven. In 1461 the owner of the Horní Bludovicer estates, Jan Hundt zu Kornitz, bought the village. He was followed in 1483 by his two sons, from whom Jan Trnka von Ratiborzan bought it and added it to Friedeck Castle, which he had acquired in 1488 . Until the abolition of patrimonial rule, the village remained subordinate to Friedeck.

From 1850 Zermanitz belonged to the municipality of Ober Bludowitz in the Teschen district. In 1875 a school was built in the village, previously Bruzovice was the school location. In 1880 a distillery opened in the village, it was closed in 1937. In 1890, Žermanice gained its independence. From 1910 the community belonged to the Friedeck district. Between 1940 and 1945 Zermanitz was part of the German district of Teschen . After the end of the war, the place came back to Czechoslovakia and was assigned to the Okres Místek. Since its dissolution, it has belonged to the Okres Frýdek-Místek since 1961 . From 1951 the construction of the dam began above Žermanice. In 1985 the place was incorporated into Lučina . Since 1990 Žermanice has been independent again.
