history
The village belonging to the Friedeck rule was created on October 29, 1613 under Johann von Würben and Freudenthal by the lordly official Káňov. In 1636 22 properties, a mill and a fish pond were identified in the land register for the village. The parish and school location was Bruzovice .
Between 1839 and 1840 the village received the first road connection with the construction of the road from Šenov to Frýdek.
From 1850 Kaniowitz / Kaňovice formed a municipality in the Teschen district. In 1853 the children were retrained to Sedliště , since only dirt roads led to Bruzovice. In the years 1873–1874 a school house was built in Kaňovice. From 1908 the place belonged to the Friedeck district. In 1924 the bridge over the Dolní Datyňka was built. After the Second World War, Kaňovice was assigned to the Okres Místek and came to the Okres Frýdek-Místek in 1961 after its dissolution .
