Hukvaldy (German high forest ) is located on the left side of the Ondřejnice in Okres Frýdek-Místek ( Moravia ) in the north of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids in the Czech Republic .
history
The place was founded in 1566 by the Olomouc bishop Wilhelm Prusinovský , who received the land from Emperor Maximilian II . The place has a large game reserve (Czech: Obora ) and since 1858 a stud farm .
Community structure
The municipality of Hukvaldy consists of the districts Dolní Sklenov ( Unter Gläsersdorf ), Horní Sklenov ( Ober Gläsersdorf ), Hukvaldy ( Hochwald ) and Rychaltice ( Bartelsdorf ).
