origin
Mr. Pelchrzim von Trzenkowitz belong to the old families of Silesia, the so-called Silesian nobility . They were initially called after the villages of Katschitz and Groß Kuntschitz near Skotschau in the Duchy of Teschen . The name Pelgrzim did not come into use until the end of the 14th century. They are mentioned for the first time with a knight Grzymislaw in the area of Teschen on a document of the Breslau bishop Lorenz from May 27, 1223. Grzymislaws great-grandson was Grzimislaus von Katschitz , mentioned in a document in Bielitz on March 14th 1316. In the years 1322 to 1337 Pelgrzim von Katschitz is as councilor of Duke Casimir III. von Teschen as well as Nikolaus von Kuntschitz and Nikel von Trzankowitz mentioned. With Nicolaus Pelgrzym , landlord on Katschitz and Kuntschitz ( Kończyce ) near Teschen, mentioned in a document in 1388, the direct line of tribe begins . In 1413, the old privileges were confirmed to Kaspar Pelhrzym . In 1416, three Pelhrzyms can be traced : Nikolaus auf Trzankowitz and Klein Pruchna as well as the brothers Gorschy and Mnick on Katschitz. From Mniszech the Polish count Mniszech (derived Mniszchowie ) off of Nicholas the thriving today Pelchrzim of Trzankowitz (Trzenkowitz).
The ancestral seat of this old noble family are the villages of Třanovice and Groß-Ochab . The village of Pielgrzymowice near Pawlowitz goes back to the establishment of the family in 1305. The Pelchrzim were wealthy in the Duchy of Teschen and also owned some property in neighboring Moravia . Because of her participation in the Bohemian uprising in 1618 , her property in Bohemia and Moravia was confiscated by the Bohemian ruler Ferdinand II . In East Prussia , the family zu Berghof, Ladtkeim, Pokraken, today Leninskoje (Kaliningrad) and Schirten had their wealth. In Silesia they sat at Gordawitz and Gieraltowitz in 1805 and at Rogosina in 1830.
In the middle of the 17th century, Sinapius led the brothers Wenceslaw v. Pelgrzim and Trzenkowitz on Ottrembow and Friedrich v. Pelgrzim and Trzenkowitz on. Only Friedrich's son Kaspar v. Pelgrzim and Trzenkowitz on Bobrek , assessors of the free estate of Beuthen, continued the line in the male line.
The family promoted Protestantism at an early age and was significantly involved in the construction of the Teschen Evangelical Jesus Church , which has been the mother of all Evangelical churches in Austrian Silesia since 1709 .
