Karl Gottlieb von Pelchrzim , also Pelchrzim and Trzenkowitz (born July 14, 1742 in Goldmannsdorf , † February 9, 1807 in Neisse ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Karl came from the old Silesian noble family von Pelchrzim . He was the son of the Prussian captain Georg Franz von Pelchrzim and Trzankowitz and his wife Magdalene, née Freiin von Soczynsky. His cousin was the Prussian major general Gottlieb Julius von Pelchrzim and Trzankowitz (1717–1788).

Military career

Pelchrzim was initially a cadet in Berlin from the end of April 1757 . On February 8, 1760 he was employed as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Lestwitz" . There he advanced to ensign and took part in the battles near Liegnitz and Torgau , the battle near Adelsbach and the siege of Dresden during the campaign in 1760/63 . Pelchrzim was promoted to staff captain by December 1, 1776 and two years later took part in the Bavarian War of Succession as captain and company commander . After his promotion to major on March 24, 1786, he was appointed commander of the grenadier battalion on June 29, 1788. In this position, Pelchrzim rose to lieutenant colonel on January 15, 1793 and led his battalion in 1794/95 in the suppression of the Kościuszko uprising in Poland . As a colonel, he was finally appointed regimental commander on February 6, 1797. King Friedrich Wilhelm III. appointed Pelchrzim on September 9, 1800 as chief of the infantry regiment "von der Marwitz" . In this position he was promoted to major general on May 20, 1801 with a patent from May 30, 1801.

family

Pelchrzim married Juliane Friederike Waltsgott (born June 3, 1745, † December 28, 1789 in Breslau), landlady of Sacherwitz, on January 31, 1781 in Breslau . After her death, he married on August 5, 1795 in Krzeszowice Wilhelmine Charlotte Friederike, née von Scheurich, widowed von Pilgersheim (born August 20, 1765 in Bukowitsch, Trebnitz district , † January 18, 1816 in Breslau). The daughter Friederike Xaverie Sophie Emilie (* 1796 in Warsaw ) emerged from this marriage .
