Angelika Weikert (born March 10, 1954 in Wiesentheid ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 2003 to 2018 .

Life

Angelika Weikert grew up in Nuremberg . After graduating from business school, Angelika Weikert worked as a clerk. Later she trained as a business economist ( DAA ) and worked as a union secretary at HBV (today ver.di ). She is married and lives in Nuremberg.

politics

In 1978 Weikert joined the SPD , where she was initially primarily active with the Jusos and in the Nuremberg sub-district. In 1990 she was elected to the Nuremberg City Council, of which she was a member until 2003. Since 2005 she has been deputy chairwoman of the SPD sub-district in Nuremberg.

In 2003 it moved into the Bavarian state parliament via the Middle Franconia constituency list . From 2003 to 2008 she was a member of the Committee on Education, Youth and Sport and a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Forestry. In the state elections in 2008 she ran unsuccessfully in the Nuremberg-East constituency , but was re-elected to the state parliament via the Middle Franconia constituency list. There she was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Family and Labor and the Committee on Petitions and Complaints for the 17th electoral term . In the 2013 state elections , she won the mandate again from the Middle Franconia constituency list. In 2018 she no longer applied for re-entry into the state parliament.

Awards

On February 1, 2019, she was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
