The DAA German Employees Academy GmbH ( DAA ) is a vocational training institution operating in Germany. It is the trade union ver.di due to its past as a training center of ver.di's predecessor union DAG principle close. It emerged from the DAG educational institute founded in 1946 , which operated as a registered association from 1952.

Corporate structure

The DAA Foundation Education and Profession is 100 percent shareholder of "DAA GmbH".

The DAA GmbH offers courses and seminars primarily for the professional field of business and administration. Target groups are employed people, companies, authorities and the unemployed. In total, educational measures are offered at 445 locations. 180 customer centers of the DAA are certified according to the AZAV .

For young people, the DAA carries out vocational preparation measures, support during training and external training measures.

Since 2004, the DAA has expanded its range to include qualification measures for (disadvantaged) young people, modular training courses for retraining in 21 recognized occupations and further training courses for businesspeople and employees in the social and health professions.

The DAA GmbH is a founding member of the Federal Association of Vocational Training Institutions (BBB) ​​and a member of the BBB's special purpose association. The DAA association also includes numerous largely autonomous sister companies such as the DAA Wirtschaftsakademie, which is only present in North Rhine-Westphalia with locations in Düsseldorf and Essen. The DAA Wirtschaftsakademie offers a purely economic degree with its state-certified business administration course. As a substitute school according to the School Act for North Rhine-Westphalia, the school qualification “Fachhochschulreife Wirtschaft” is also possible. The DAA Business Academy is headed by Ralf Schäfer and Andrea Birke (Düsseldorf) as well as Heike Flottmann and Marcus Ozdoba (Essen). The DAA Wirtschaftsfachschule GmbH has been responsible for these schools since July 2019. Since 2005, the DAA has also been running the federal integration courses, where German lessons and so-called orientation courses are offered to migrants living in Germany.
