Middle Franconia constituency

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The constituency of Middle Franconia is one of the seven constituencies for the Bavarian state parliament and district elections . Territorially it corresponds to the Bavarian district of Middle Franconia .

Since the 2008 election, the constituency has sent at least 24 members to the Maximilianeum , 12 of which are directly elected in the constituencies . In the 2018 election there were two overhang and three compensatory mandates , so that the total number of Middle Franconian MPs in the 18th Bavarian State Parliament is 29.

Constituencies

Up until the 2003 election, the constituency was divided into 13 constituencies. Since the number of residents eligible to vote had decreased compared to the other constituencies, the Fürth-Land constituency was dissolved for the 2008 election and divided between the Fürth-Stadt constituencies , which was renamed the Fürth constituency , and Neustadt adAisch-Bad Windsheim , which became Neustadt adAisch-Bad Windsheim, Fürth-Land was renamed. The constituencies of Ansbach-Süd, Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen and Roth have been redesigned.

Results of the parties

Elections since 2003

In the state elections in 2003, 2008 and 2013, the CSU won all thirteen and twelve direct mandates respectively. The remaining seats were filled by the list applicants who had the largest total number of votes on the relevant party list. In 2018, the CSU won all twelve direct mandates again, but would only have been entitled to ten mandates due to the total number of votes. This resulted in two overhang mandates . Greens, SPD and Free Voters each received a compensation mandate .
