Lower Bavaria constituency

The constituency of Niederbayern is one of the seven constituencies for the Bavarian state parliament and district elections . Territorially, it corresponds to the Bavarian district of Lower Bavaria .

The constituency sends at least 18 members to the Maximilianeum , 9 of which are directly elected in the constituencies . The 2018 election resulted in one overhang and two compensatory mandates , so that the total number of Lower Bavarian MPs in the 18th Bavarian State Parliament is 21.

Results of the parties

Elections since 2008

In the state elections in 2008 and 2013, the CSU won all nine direct mandates. The remaining seats were filled by the list applicants who had the largest total number of votes on the relevant party list. In 2018, the CSU won all nine direct mandates again, but would only have been entitled to eight mandates due to the total number of votes. This resulted in an overhang mandate , the SPD and the Free Voters each received a compensation mandate .
