Helmut Radlmeier

Helmut Radlmeier (born September 21, 1966 in Landshut ) is a German politician ( CSU ). He is a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Life

education and profession

Helmut Radlmeier grew up in his hometown and went to the St. Wolfgang elementary school there. After graduating from the technical college in Landshut and completing basic military service with tank battalion 4/563 in the Schoch barracks in Landshut, Helmut Radlmeier completed an apprenticeship as a banker in the cooperative bank in Adlkofen . He then worked as a banker at the Raiffeisenbank in Geisenhausen.

Political career

In 1990 Helmut Radlmeier joined the CSU. Since 1995 he has been a board member in the CSU district association Landshut-Stadt. From 2009 to 2017 Helmut Radlmeier was district chairman of the CSU district association Landshut-Stadt. In addition, from 1997 to 2015 Helmut Radlmeier was district chairman of the University and Culture Working Group (AKH) of the CSU district association in Landshut. Since 2004 he has been deputy chairman of the university and culture working group of the CSU Lower Bavaria. Since 2005 he has been a member of the state board of the University and Culture Working Group of the CSU Bavaria. He is also a member of the working groups of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian State Parliament for Science and Art as well as Health and Care. He is also involved in the working groups of the CSU state parliamentary group for active civil society / volunteering, working group for displaced persons, resettlers, partnership relationships and in the working group for sport. On October 9, 2016, he received 32.8 percent of the vote from among four applicants in the mayoral election in Landshut. On October 23, 2016 he was defeated in the runoff election with 36.99% against Alexander Putz ( FDP ) who got 63.01% of the vote.

Priorities of political work

At the beginning of February 2017, he defined the following topics as the priorities of his political work until the legislative period in the Bavarian State Parliament, which expired at the end of 2018: security, infrastructure and housing. The first is to strengthen the police force and tighten asylum and refugee policy; the second is primarily about expanding broadband and continuing the B 15new across the Isar to the south. In the latter case, there is a demand for affordable living space to be built and a child benefit in the room.

Public offices

Since 2002 he has been a member of the city ​​council of the capital of Lower Bavaria. In the state elections in Bavaria in 2013 , he won the mandate in the Landshut constituency as a direct candidate . Helmut Radlmeier is a member of the State Parliament's Committee on Health and Care and the Committee on Science and Art. In the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 , he again achieved the direct mandate. In the 2018/23 legislative period, he is a member of the Council of Elders as well as the committees for science and art and for health and care. Radlmeier has been an active member of the Kuratorium Freundeskreis Stadtmuseum Landshut e. He is also a committee member of the board of the Sudeten German Landshut Association (since 2006). From 1999 to 2012 Helmut Radlmeier was a member of the board of the Europa-Union Niederbayern.
