Josef Zellmeier (born May 31, 1964 in Mallersdorf ) is a German politician ( CSU ). He is a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and has been chairman of the budget committee since November 2018. From March to November 2018 he was State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport .

Life

Zell Meier made the 1983 High School at St. John Turmair Gymnasium Straubing and then served from 1984 to 1985 in the Bundeswehr . From 1985 to 1991 he studied law in Regensburg , after which he was a trainee lawyer from 1991 to 1994 . In 1994 he joined the Bavarian financial administration, most recently as a senior councilor .

Zellmeier has been a member of the CSU / JU since 1983 . In the JU he held the offices of the local chairman in Laberweinting , the deputy district chairman Straubing-Bogen and the deputy district chairman in Lower Bavaria . From 1991 to 2011 he was deputy district chairman of the ( CSU ) Straubing-Bogen, and since April 2011 he has headed the district association. Since 1996 he has been a local councilor in Laberweinting and a district councilor in the Straubing-Bogen district. From 1985 Zellmeier was active in the Catholic rural youth movement (KLJB) and in the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ). From 1992 to 2012 he was chairman of the district youth association Straubing-Bogen. Since 2010 he has also held the office of regional chairman of the Carpathian German Landsmannschaft Slovakia in Bavaria.

He has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since October 6, 2003 and was there from 2013 until his appointment to the Bavarian Cabinet in March 2018, Deputy Chairman and Parliamentary Managing Director of the CSU parliamentary group; He also holds the post of political spokesman for expellees in his group. In July 2016 he took over the deputy chairmanship of the study commission “Actively shaping integration in Bavaria and giving direction”, which he passed on to his colleague Thomas Huber in March 2018. He was also chairman of the study commission “Being Young in Bavaria - Future Prospects for Coming Generations”. After he was elected to the state parliament in Lower Bavaria via the CSU list in 2003 , he replaced Herbert Ettengruber as the owner of the direct mandate in the Straubing constituency in 2008 . In 2005 he took over his parents' small Edeka store, which has been in the family since 1903.

Zellmeier is Roman Catholic and married.
