Space Station Silicon Valley

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Space Station Silicon Valley is an adventure game released on October 1, 1998 for Nintendo 64 , later also for Game Boy Color and a PlayStation variant with a different name in 2000, Evo's Space Adventures. The title was developed by the Scottish company DMA Design (now known as Rockstar North , among other things developer of the Grand Theft Auto series).

action

The plot of the game is about a space station, the habitat of several animals, which disappeared in 2001. Although the station was thought to be gone forever, it reappears in 3000, and a co-developer, Professor Cheese, starts an excursion to the station. A duo was hired for this excursion, Dan and his partner Evo, who are tasked with investigating the station and finding out the reasons for the disappearance. They find that in the over 1000 years that have passed, animals have lived on and learned to use technology, such as an electric fox with motorized wheels. They find out that the station will collide with Earth in its orbit, making it the player's mission to save humanity.

The player takes on the role of a robot named Evo , who was so badly damaged when falling into the station that he is just a microchip . He is able to join and control the bodies of animals , giving him special skills that he can use to solve puzzles. Dan is stuck in the ship and can do nothing but help Evo through radio contact.

The aim of the game is to bring Evo successfully through the various areas of the game and to find the individual parts of the robot. The individual parts are needed to reassemble the robot in order to be prepared for the final battle.

criticism

The game has a few technical issues and often crashes, especially with the Expansion Pak . Furthermore, there should be errors that prevent you from being able to play the game completely.

Still, the game was received quite well by critics.

Trivia

Scenes from the game were used for the music video for the song "Twift Shoeblade" from the 1997 album "Autoditacker" by Mouse on Mars .
