The Karpatendeutsche Landsmannschaft Slovakia eV based in Stuttgart is an association of expellees . It was founded in 1949 .

History and organization

The initiators were the two ecclesiastical Carpathian German organizations Aid Association of Carpathian German Catholics and Aid Committee for Evangelical Lutheran Slovak Germans . The Landsmannschaft is a member of the Association of Expellees (BdV); Long-term federal chairman was Oskar Marczy ( FDP ) until his death in April 2006 . The federal chairperson is (as of February 2017) Brunhilde Reitmeier-Zwick.

In addition to the federal association, there are six state associations (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and North Rhine-Westphalia), in which the members are organized according to their place of residence, and 26 local communities (from Blaufuß to Zips - Bodwatal ), in which the members are organized according to their origin.

The federal meeting of the Carpathian Germans takes place every two years in Karlsruhe , the sponsor city of the Carpathian Germans.

The Landsmannschaft issues the following publications:

  • Carpathian Post , Frequency: monthly
  • Carpathian Yearbook , together with church organizations (see above) and the "Karpatendeutschen Kulturwerk" , frequency of publication: annually in December, editing: until 2009 Hans Kobialka, from 2010 Dr. Heike Drechsler-Meel and Dr. Heinz Schmitt.
